With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to with links to other relevant medical organisations.

We would like to thank our patients for their continued support during this time. All the staff are continuing to work under extreme pressure and are trying hard to provide the best service we can in these difficult times. We would remind you that without our reception staff we would be unable to provide a service. We would kindly ask that you are patient with them. They are working within strict guidelines agreed by the GP partners.

The Winter Vaccination Programme September 2021

The way you will get your flu vaccine this year has changed.

People aged 70 or over will now be sent a letter by the national booking system with details of an appointment at a vaccination centre.

From now on, GP practices will not administer the Flu jab. Across Scotland, Health and Social Care Partnerships are taking on this role in line with the GP Contract agreed by BMA Scotland on behalf of Scottish GPs. This change has been agreed to relieve pressure on GP practices.

As a result your local practice will not offer any flu vaccinations or handle any booking queries for people in eligible groups.

Instead, the flu vaccine will be delivered by the four Health and Social Care Partnerships in Lothian - East Lothian; Midlothian; Edinburgh and West Lothian.

If you require further information or you need to rearrange your appointment, please contact the helpline on your appointment invitation or the local enquiry line on 0300 790 6296.

Please do not contact your GP.

You can find out more on the websites of the Health and Social Care Partnerships or on NHS Inform

Please do not contact the Practice to ask for a Covid vaccination status certificate

Please access NHS Inform for the most up to date information on COVID vaccinations

The Scottish Government requires General Practice and other healthcare settings to have different infection control and physical distancing guidance to other places such as hospitality and shops.

This is to help reduce the risk to practice staff and to people attending the practice who may be at greater risk.

From 19 July (when we go into Level 0) the following rules will still apply in the practice

  • wearing of face coverings by patients and public (unless exempt)
  • physical distancing of 2 metres in  the waiting room
  • contact the practice by telephone in the first instance
  • wearing of PPE by staff
  • screening for all patients for Covid 19 symptoms

Please support us by complying to this government guidance - thank you

Lunchtime Closure

The practice will be closed from 12.30 - 13.30 each day until further notice for practice development and training.

If you need a doctor in the case of an emergency during these times please call 07912487499

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the Practice has a plan in place to ensure that we have capacity to deal with patient demand.

We will be running the Practice on a day-to-day basis and if you require medical advice, you should contact Reception by telephone and your call will be directed appropriately. A GP. nurse or in house physiotherapist may call you back. Our reception team may signpost to another health care professional outwith the GP surgery.

If the clinician feels that you should attend the practice they will organise a face to face appointment for you. To protect you and our staff we have organised timed appointments to limit the volume of people in the building at any one time.

Please attend on time - not early for your appointment, come alone you MUST wear a  face covering if possible unless medically exempt.  PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT YOU MAY, AT TIMES, HAVE TO WAIT OUTSIDE THE SURGERY BUILDING, THEREFORE PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE DRESSED APPROPRIATELY FOR THE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

The GP may ask you to send a photographic image via email.  The email address that this should be sent to is Clinical.s70997@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk

Please only send correspondence to this email address if requested by a Clinician.  Any unsolicited emails will be deleted without being read.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and co-operation during this time.
